Mike Malloy is a watercolorist, graphic designer and web developer, working in Orlando, Florida. A portfolio of my work can be viewed at www.mmalloy.net/portfolio.

My interest in golf landscapes piqued when I was commissioned to illustrate a selection of golf properties in Orlando. Having always painted landscape subjects, the move to this subject was natural.

I find the golf landscape is very well planned and often quite beautiful. The golf architect attempts to enhance the natural terrain. When done well, the combination of the design and the natural setting makes for a artistic combination.

I often visit the site I want to depict, during the time of day when the lighting is most dramatic. From photos, I create the watercolor in the studio. I take some liberty with technique, I am not striving for an architectural rendering but more for a painterly watercolor representation of the landscape.

I accept commissions. If you are interested in having a special landscape depicted, attach a photo to a email and include a suggested size. Club signature holes for the club collection are often requested. The copyright to the image sells to the buyer with the painting.

If you have a particular landscape you are interested in having illustrated, I can work from your photos. I would be glad to provide you a quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the originals available?
Unless indicated as "closed out", the original paintings are available for purchase. Inquire by email.

What method do you use to reproduce your prints?
I utilize the latest in digital output. The resolution quality and colorfastness is proven and the method allows for the artist to offer prints at reasonable pricing.

Are there any special handling requirements?
We recommend that you treat your prints the same as any original watercolor. It should be protected from moisture and should not be placed in direct sunlight. The prints should be frame mounted behind UV protectant glass.

How accurate is the color?
The resolution and color can be brilliant and most often better than lithographs. We work closely to achieve the look and feel in the print that is most appealing and closest to the original as possible. Color on the Web can vary due to individual monitor settings. Web images were created with monitor setting "Colornatch RGB" on a MAC.

What resolution are the images on the Web site?
The reproduced images are 72 dpi, low resolution scans from photos of the original paintings. Of course, the prints are from high resolution laser scans.

Are dimensions the sheet size or image size?
The dimensions noted are both. The print has a 1/2" border plus title block at bottom. Space allows for matting and framing. The width will always by 20 1/2."

Do you guarantee the sale?
All packages are shipped insured and include your 3 day inspection time. If you are unhappy with the print, simply return the print, undamaged, in it's original shipping container, and your money will be refunded.

Do you work with wholesalers?
Yes, special pricing is available. And, special commissions and editions for golf holes from a specific course can bearranged.
